Nolan met Santa!!

Jim and I took Nolan to the mall this evening to meet Santa. We weren't sure if he was going to cry or not but we figured either way we had to have his 1st picture with Santa!

Well, it turns out Nolan did great! We had to wait in line for about 30-45 minutes and then it was his turn! I brought him over to Santa and sat him on his lap. He sort of looked at me like "why are you handing me to this man?" I stepped away and of course started making crazy faces and sounds in an effort to get Nolan to look at the camera. He just sat there and looked right at the camera but never cried or smiled, lol. Overall it was a great first experience and Santa was so nice and patient with us. Let me just say that man is a saint!

Happy 10 months Nolan!

Today is Nolan's 10 month birthday! I can not believe that my itty bitty is already 10 months old! Where does the time go?!?

Tomorrow N is going to visit Victoria Kelly to have his pictures taken! She is a wonderful lady and we just love her! I'll be posting some of his shots as soon as I can!

Well it's off to bed for me! A 10 month old + picture session = one busy day tomorrow!

Nolan's 1st Carolina Hurricanes game!!

On Monday night Jim and I took Nolan to his first Carolina Hurricanes game! We had great box seats that my Dad got us and Nolan had a blast. We met Stormy and Nolan loved him and was not scared at all. He tried to hold his hand! I'm hoping this means he won't be scared of Santa either, lol. The Canes didn't do so well but it was still a great night and little man hung in there like a big kid. I swear, nothing phases this child :)

Meeting Stormy for the 1st time

Nolan's new sleep position...

So yesterday I put Nolan down for his nap and about 30 minutes later this is how I found him...

Apparently sitting up and sleeping in a new fad, lol! I did move him onto his back beacuse this just didn't look comfortable :)

Happy Thanksgiving a little late...

Happy Thanksgiving 2009
Love, The Gibsons

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we sure did. It was so nice to be with both our families on this day. For the past few years my family has been invited by Jim's family to join the festivites over at their house. This is such a blessing especially now that we have Nolan, that everyone can be in one place! We always have so much fun preparing dinner, eating appetizers, drinking, playing cornhole and of course Kaylie and I giving all those State fans a hard time...GO HEELS!! I am so thankful to have a such a loving family, husband and sweet baby boy!!

Somebody was getting tired :)

"Mom, enough with the pictures already!"

#1 Fan...

So I've been a real slacker recently when it comes to updating my blog but boy have I been busy. Between work, entertaining an almost 10 month old (sniff, sniff) and getting ready for the holidays, I just haven't had time to do anything extra.

Today I worked a half day, got off at noon and headed to NC State's campus to meet Nolan (he was with G'ma) and watch Kaylie's last volleyball match of the season. Nolan was such a good boy especially since the match was during nap time. Unfortunately they lost and Kaylie was not very happy. Two of her brothers go to State and are constantly giving her a hard time so I'm sure she's really going to hear it now, poor thing! Oh well, Nolan is still your #1 fan Auntie Kaylie!! Love you!

Well it's off to bed for me! Tomorrow is going to be a fun but busy day for us! Happy Thanksgiving a few hours early. Hopefully I'll have plenty to blog about tomorrow :)

Trip to NY...

Last Friday my sister Heather and I took a trip up to NY for my best friend Tina's baby shower!! She's due in early December with a sweet baby boy, Joey :) It was great to see everyone and fun to visit the old homestead. Nolan stayed home with Jim and I missed his terribly but when I got home Sunday all was well, Jim did a great job, I never doubted that he would :) Though it was a fun little trip I was happy to get home to my boys and some warmer weather! How in the world did I live there half my life?!? Lol!

Nolan's 9 month checkup...

I'm a little late posting this considering Nolan's appointment was last Tuesday but I went out of town this past weekend so I was busy preparing for my trip.

Big guy weighed in at 19.7 lbs! He is 29.5 inches long and his head measured 18 inches. Dr. Steele had nothing but great things to say about him! Best of all, he didn't have to get any shots! I am so greatful that he is such a healthy, happy boy!

Waiting for Dr. Steele :)

Nolan destroyed the paper
they lay down on the table!

Happy 9 months Nolan James!!

Nolan is 9 months old today! Boy, does time fly! We have his 9 month well check at 1:30pm today so I'll be updating this later with all his stats :)

Happy Halloween a few days late...

Ok, so I'm a few days late but better late than never right?!?

Happy Halloween 2009

From
The Gibson Family :)

We started the evening off trick-or-treating at the UNC Dean Dome after Kaylie's volleyball match. The whole team was out on the court handing out candy and signing autographs for all the kids. Of course Nolan made a bee-line straight for his Auntie, he even walked to her himself (with some help from Daddy). We visited with Kaylie and her friend/roommate Lexi who's here all the way from Bulgaria!! Nolan had lots of fun and even got some candy for Mommy and Daddy, lol!

"Here I come Autie Kaylie!"

Lexi, Aunt Kaylie and Nolan

When we got home we loaded Nolan up in his stroller and walked down to my parent's street (they live the next street over from us, lol). We visited with my Mom and Dad and all their neighbors who just adore Nolan. Grandpa and Grandma gave Nolan a little Halloween gift (my child's not spoiled I tell you!) and he had a blast playing in their bowl of Halloween candy. It was a great night and a very eventful first Halloween for our little man!

Look what came in the mail today!

Back in August Nolan did some modeling for the East Coast School which hosts photographic workshops for aspiring photographers from around the country. Jennifer George sent me this 8x10 of Nolan as a thank you for letting her photograph him to teach her class how to use natural lighting. I just love this picture, drool and all!

Nolan James - 6 months

Baby Boo-runch

We started our day off at the Hicks' house for a Halloween brunch with the couples (babies included) that we met last winter during our lamaze classes. Six out of the eight couples were able to make it and it was great to see everyone and all the kiddos..gosh they are growing up so fast! Thanks to the Hicks for hosting the get together!!

All dressed up and ready to party!

Group shot :)
Lathan, Braydon, Hayden, Nolan, Clara, Luke

"Hey Luke, this toy is pretty
cool, were'd you get it?"

Nolan and Braydon monkeying around!

Nolan had a blast but did begin to have a melt down once nap time neared. It tough being a 9 month old, lol.

Pumpkin Patch...

Yesterday Jim and I took Nolan to a pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins. He had a blast checking out all the pumpkins and teething on them. He then discovered the grass and really enjoyed trying to eat it as well. The people that own the farm had 4 donkeys and Nolan talked to them like he does Riley. I think he thought they were just really big Rileys :) We had a great time and the weather held out so we were thankful! When we got home Nolan and Daddy carved pumpkins before bedtime. So sweet!

Our little pumpkin at the pumpkin patch

"Nobody told me pumpkins feel good on the gums!"

"What is this green stuff?"

Notice the donkey rolling around
like a dog in the background, lol!

"Mom and Dad, I'll take this one!"

Good luck Carolina Volleyball!!

Forgot to mention in my last post that my sister-in-law Kaylie plays volleyball for the UNC Tarheels!! She might be short but she's a fast little thing and leads the ACC in digs!

They have a match tonight at 7pm against Georgia Tech and I wanted to wish them luck!! We're hoping to make it to the match but 7pm is getting close to little man's bedtime so we'll see.

Good luck Auntie Kaylie...just do it!!

Let the Halloween festivities begin!

Tomorrow will be Nolan's first Halloween and I'm not sure who's more excited about it :) Yesterday his very first trick or treat bag arrived in the mail and I just think it's adorable. I ordered it from BumbleflyBaby. I have several of their products that I got as gifts and I just love everything they have to offer!

Like a good Mommy I got him the big kids bag and not the little 7x7 bag they offer for little ones. We all know a 9 month old needs plenty of room to hold their candy, right? Lol!

Though I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get any pictures of Nolan in his costume this is a picture off the web of his costume.

He decided the he wanted to be a little monkey because of the love he has for his little mokey that my dear friend Heather gave him.

We have a whole day of activities planned for tomorrow. To start things off we will be going over to The Hick's house for a Baby Boo-runch were we will get to see all the parents and babies from our lamaze class that we took last winter. Next I'm sure we will be taxiing our little mokey around to see his Grandparents and other family and friends before we head out with another couple in our neighborhood to take the kiddos trick-or-treating, or shall I say to have some adult time, beverages included! Should be a fun filled day!!

Decided to join the trend...

Don't ask what made me decide to create my own blog tonight but here it is. I love reading my good friend Nichole's blog and do so almost daily. I never thought I'd be able to figure this out or have time for it but I decided that it would be a good way for me to share life's happenings with my family and friends. So here have it, The Gibson 3! We'll see how this goes and if I can actually keep up, lol!
